【綜合報導】現年18歲的大象拉基米，遭主人不當飼養，還利用牠到街上行乞，不僅有過胖問題，還罹患嚴重關節炎，造成牠無法自由行動。

印度林務局人員前去救援，動用20名人員利用起重機將牠吊到卡車上，運送到位於曼蘇拉的大象加護中心接受治療。

由於在當地用大象乞討是非法行為，拉基米的主人將牠藏匿起來，導致救援工作執行不易，拉基米的同伴就因來不及救援死亡，目前拉基米在加護中心逐漸復原中。
