〔大陸新聞中心／綜合報導〕美國航太總署的開普勒系外行星探測器為我們展示了系外行星神秘的一面，科學家們透過該任務了解到系外此前未知的系外行星奧秘，顯示了銀河系內系外行星的多樣性。到目前為止，開普勒探測器已經發現了數千顆系外行星信號，其探索半徑達到5000光年左右，科學家的目的就是希望發現位於恆星周圍可居住帶上的類地行星，但是有研究指出，系外行星的「月亮」上也可能存在生命，天文學家正對系外行星的「月亮」進行研究，調查其是否有助於生命的誕生。事實上，行星的衛星也是宇宙生命的潛在誕生地，比如木衛二歐羅巴就是一顆可能存在海洋生物的星球。
