宣佈將辭職後首度露面　教宗：為了教會好

Pope welcomed with warm applause, in his first public appearance after resignation

天主教教宗本篤十六世(Pope Benedict XVI)，今天稍早在梵蒂岡的聖伯多祿廣場(St. Peter's Square)，舉行他宣布辭職後的第一場「大齋首日」(Ash Wednesday)，他告訴現場約八千名信徒，這是他深思熟慮後，「做出對教會最好的決定」。當他緩步走上廣場講台時，信眾們報以熱烈的掌聲歡迎，許多信眾熱淚盈眶，不能自己。

本篤十六世說，他相信羅馬天主教會必定在最後，能夠獲得上帝的關愛與支持，他的辭職真的只是感到力不從心，無法再負荷這個重擔，希望信眾們都能繼續為了教會全體而祈禱。
