〔記者吳毓敏／綜合報導〕近年來，大猩猩的生存狀態在美國備受關注，尤其是用於生物醫學研究用的360隻大猩猩，經過兩年的時間考慮，美國國家衛生研究院(NIH)發表聲明，利用大猩猩發展的研究已經「沒有必要」，且他認為讓絕大多數大猩猩「退休」，是一件正確的事。
