〔地方中心／屏東報導〕曾為「綠金」的檳榔，近來因為消費情形改變，市場價格波動大，農民為增加收入，常在樹下間種作物，有人種香蕉、咖啡等，內埔鄉民沈文彬則種百香果，他利用每棵檳榔樹之間架起網子讓百香果攀爬，現在正逢結果期，他和加工廠契約保證價格收購，可望成為農村新興經濟作物。
