〔記者卓君澤／台北報導〕日本隊以8比2擊敗委內瑞拉，成為第2屆IBAF世界盃少棒錦標賽的季軍，突破上屆第5名成績，總教練前橋喜佐男表示，「很想跟中華隊打冠軍戰，可惜了，因為先前預賽被我們擊敗，他們一定很想復仇。」
