世衛列「戶外空氣污染」為致癌因子

【林沿瑜／綜合報導】世界衛生組織（World Health Organization，WHO）今首度將「戶外空氣污染」列為致癌因子，其下轄的國際癌症研究中心成員並稱，空污的影響比抽二手菸還嚴重。不僅如此，「戶外空氣污染」除如一般所知，會導致呼吸和心臟疾病外，還會提高肺癌、甚至膀胱癌的罹癌機率。

國際癌症研究中心負責評估致癌物質的主管史崔夫（Kurf Straif）說：「我們認為這（空污）是最重要的環境因子，比抽二手菸的影響還大。」哈佛大學公共衛生學院教授達米尼西（Francesca Dominici）感嘆，「你可以選擇不要喝酒或抽菸，但你無法控制是否接觸到空氣污染。」
