美國紐澤西州16名維修工人，上周合資買彩券，中了「威力球」頭獎，每人獲稅後380萬美元，約1.14億台幣的獎金，除了一人之外，其他人都表示會繼續工作。

蓋洛普一項調查也發現，三分之二的美國打工族，就算中了1000萬美元，約3億台幣的獎金，也會繼續工作。最新的調查結果顯示，44%受訪打工族表示會繼續現職，23%表示會換工作，31%表示會停止工作，2%未能確定怎樣做。

中頭獎後會繼續工作的人數，比8年前還要多，研究員指可能與經濟衰退有關，人們就算發了橫財，依然擔心財政狀況，並珍惜一份穩定工作。加上考慮到通膨等因素，不少受訪者認為中了1千萬美元，也不像以前一樣等於超級富豪。
