美國地質調查所（USGS）表示，智利北部當地時間30日下午5時15分，發生規模6.7的強震，強震造成智利北部電力及通訊中斷，但未發布海嘯警報。

該起地震震央位在礦業小鎮科皮亞波102公里，距離首都聖地牙哥北方約800公里，震源深度47.5公里。
