【綜合報導】英國Thomas Cook航空一班原定周一(24日)下午由曼徹斯特飛往多明尼加共和國的A330空中巴士，在跑道上準備加速起飛時，其中一個引擎突然發出巨響，然後冒出白煙。

機師立即減速，把載有325名乘客的空巴煞停在跑道上，派駐機場的消防人員隨即趕到班機旁戒備。其後空巴慢慢駛回停機坪，待乘客下機後，工程人員才開始檢查引擎，目前還不清楚原因。
