【王覺一／綜合報導】今天顯然不是大投手的日子，老虎賽揚投手韋蘭德(Justin Verlander)與史上救援王洋基守護神李維拉(Mariano Rivera)同日落難，兩人同樣都挨了2轟，韋蘭德幸運逃過敗投，李維拉則是連續3場救援失敗。不過洋基靠著賈納(Brett Garner)在9局下轟出再見全壘打，以5比4氣走老虎。
 
韋蘭德在2、4局分別被「A-Rod」羅德里格茲(Alex Rodriguez)與索瑞安諾(Alfonso Soriano)轟出陽春砲，6局還因不滿好壞球判決，被主審提出警告，最後撐滿7局失4分退場，投出9次三振。
 
李維拉在9局上4比2領先時登板，先後被卡布瑞拉(Miguel Cabrera)、馬丁尼茲(Victor Martinez)轟出陽春砲追平比數。卡布瑞拉在這次與洋基3連戰場場開轟，本季已36轟，前天也是在9局上轟出2分砲，重創李維拉。
