〔記者黃志政／台中報導〕潭美颱風雖已過境，但統計颱風期間臺中市路面積水27件，其次是20件淹水，各區淹水共758戶，水患是最主要的災情。市府水利局檢討後表示將積極推動南山截水溝興建工程，徹底解決大肚山及海線地區淹水問題，其他地區也要廣設滯洪池，將公園綠地及公有閒置土地規劃兼作滯洪池使用，以解決淹水問題。
