〔記者黃村杉／新北報導〕肝病又稱國病，有云：肝好，則人生是彩色，肝臟是「沉默的器官」本身沒有痛覺神經，不易有疼痛的感覺，且肝病又不一定會有症狀，許多患者常不知道自己有肝病，往往要透過肝功能檢查才知道是否有肝炎。因此，衛生局與肝病防治學術基金會5日上午將在新莊區體育館，辦理肝炎及肝癌免費健康檢查，預計提供1萬個名額，凡本市年滿27歲以上新北市市民都可參加，參加篩檢民眾不必空腹，但應攜帶身份證件。
