【綜合報導】日本出現全球首宗成功移植活人肺部中葉的手術，一位母親將自己部分肺部移植給三歲兒子，小孩術後5小時，已可用新肺呼吸，醫生稱手術非常成功。 這名男童是日本最年輕的肺部移植患者，他一歲時因白血病接受了骨髓移植手術，但身體排斥新移植骨髓，並攻擊男童肺部。 負責手術岡山大學醫生大藤剛宏表示，活人肺部移植一般是用捐贈者的下肺葉，因為這部分肺部較大，方便接受移植者呼吸。但這次這位母親移植較小的右肺中葉，體積更適合幼童，但手術的困難度也大大提高。 醫生術後將男孩體內原本的輸氧泵拆除，他順利地用移植的肺部自行呼吸，並無不良反應。
