〔記者呂炯昌／綜合報導〕美國媒體報導，由於國防經費刪減，美國海軍2014年將有大批軍艦除役、出售給盟國，其中台灣與菲律賓可能成為7艘二手派里級（Oliver Hazard Perry class）巡防艦的買家。
