〔記者黃志政／台中報導〕臺中市為低碳示範城市，市府正草擬「臺中市低碳城市發展自治條例」，市府建設局也將全面推動公共工程落實建構低碳新措施，其中包含水湳經貿園區開發案、清翠園(Jade Eco Park)新建工程、44座公園綠地開闢計畫(植樹綠化)及逐步汰換LED省電燈具等。
