〔記者蘇彩娥／南投報導〕南投縣鹿谷鄉溪頭夏緹飯店13日清晨6點多，突然從建築物一樓廚房竄出火苗濃煙直到頂樓，一發不可收拾，飯店內先廣播告知房客火警訊號、並逐樓敲房疏散，52名香港旅遊團及近10名員工隨即紛紛議論逃出飯店，其中一名張姓男客不幸遭輕微嗆傷，送醫後已無大礙，清理火災現場時，沒發現有其他人員受困或傷亡。
