【陳智偉／綜合外電報導】著名避險基金經理人寶森（John Paulson）加入鋼琴大王史坦威私有化競標，同意以每股40美元、總價約5.12億美元（154億元台幣）收購史坦威樂器（Steinway Musical Instruments）公司，激勵史坦威樂器盤前股價漲逾4%。
 
史坦威是擁有160年悠久歷史的鋼琴名廠，史坦威樂器同時兼營其他樂器銷售，若寶森旗下避險基金公司Paulson & Co.完成收購，史坦威樂器將結束17年掛牌歷史下市。在購併利多推升下，史坦威樂器今年來漲幅超過80%。
 
今年7月初私募基金Kohlberg & Co.率先發難，出價每股35美元、總價約4.38億美元（132億元台幣）預備收購史坦威樂器，但在45天等待期中，史坦威樂器周一宣布又有1家未公開的公司加入競標，出價每股38美元、總價4.75億美元（143億元台幣），Kohlberg & Co.在周二宣布放棄競標。
