〔記者林修卉／台北報導〕1996年總統直選以來，民進黨在新竹、苗栗等客家地區，得票數向來不理想。據了解，前民進黨主席蔡英文身為客家女兒，為了強化客家基層服務，日前已在新竹關西租下一棟透天民宅，日後將做為客家辦公室或客家會館，加強地方互動。
